His career spans a decade in juvenile justice and law enforcement, complemented by 18 years as an esteemed educator specializing in special education. Currently serving as the Compliance Supervisor of Special Populations for DeSoto Independent School District, Mr. Logan holds a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management from Paul Quinn College and a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M University
Katari McDonald
Our Secretary, Mr. McDonald has over 28 years as a leader in Corporate America. Selling Business information solutions that help organizations evaluate Risk, make strategic decisions, and find new opportunities. In addition, Mr. McDonald serves his community by serving as a leader in his church and sits on several non-profit boards that support churches throughout Texas. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Public Address from the University of North Texas.
Charles Cooper II
Our Treasurer is driven by a proud family legacy of military service, Charles enlisted in the U.S. Navy after high school. Over an impressive 22-year career, he rose to the rank of E8, earning a reputation for unwavering dedication and outstanding leadership. As an electronics technician, he played a vital role in critical missions, including deployments to Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, where his expertise and commitment set him apart.
Troy Johnson
Our Chief of Staff, Troy is an 8 year U.S. Army Veteran during the Gulf War Era and has served in several leadership roles throughout his career. With over 30 years in human services, he currently serves as Contract Manager with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. Mr. Johnson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management from Paul Quinn College and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Prairie View A & M University.
Cedric Benton Sr
As Board of Director-Veteran Affairs, Cedric brings over 22 years of logistical experience from his service in the US Army/Reserves, retiring in 2019. His career includes eight years as a license claims adjuster in New York, Texas, and is a certified HVAC Universal Technician. Cedric is the owner of Slidez-N-More and he is currently serving as a Supply Chain Technician for Photronics Inc, in Allen, Texas, Mr. Benton is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management at East Texas A&M University, expected Spring 2026, after earning an Associates Degree from Dallas College in Dallas, Texas.

Marvin Mitchell
As Board of Director-Community Engagement, Marvin brings over 35 years of public service in juvenile justice and academia. He currently serves as Deputy Director of Juvenile Services for Ellis County, Texas, where he champions youth development and systemic reform. Mr. Mitchell holds a Bachelor’s degree from Northeast Louisiana University and a Master’s in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. His lifelong commitment to advocacy and education continues to drive positive change in communities across Texas.
