On Saturday, August. 9, 2025, the Joppa Community and Veterans Foundation partnered with Post No. 511, Auxiliary Unit, SONs, American Legion, to equip veterans' families and southern Dallas County students with backpacks, supplies, books, clothes and plenty of smiles! On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the Joppa CAVF and Red River No. 276 proudly donated 10 backpacks to Christian Missionary Baptist Church in the historic Joppa community. Today, the congregation is made up largely of elders faithfully raising their great grandchildren, carrying forward the spirit of love and resilience that defines this community.
